Book 4 in the Kate Daniels Series

Ilona Andrews:

The husband/wife writer team responsible for the infallible Kate Daniels urban fantasy series and the Edge series. On my auto-buy list. Incredible, gritty worldbuilding. Real characters. On Cloud 9 romance. Hilarious dialogue. Love, love, love.

First Book in the Nursery Rhyme Crime Duology

Book 2 in Thursday Next Series

Jasper Fforde:

On auto-buy no longer, but the early Thursday Next novels and the Nursery Rhyme Crime series are priceless. Nursery Rhyme Crime is pretty self-explanatory. Thursday Next is an alternative history series (for lack of a better description) peppered with characters, references, and humor from the literary classics. Try not to eat or drink anything while reading Lost in a Good Book. I’ve done a few spectacular spit-takes courtesy of Jasper Fforde.

Fourth in the Song of the Lioness Quartet

Book One in Beka Cooper Series

Tamora Pierce:

You know that feeling in your gut when you open your old yearbooks? One part nostalgic, one part charmed, and spiced with just a dash of horror when you come across your picture? That pretty well sums up how I feel when I crack open anything by Tamora Pierce. I forget the exponential load of work waiting for me, my eternal hunt for the perfect pair of nude heels, and the fact that there isn’t a decent caramel machiatto within three square miles of my apartment. It’s magic. The Tortall series was an absolute fixture from my awkward adolescence and while part of me thinks it’s completely appalling that I can still get completely absorbed in these books, the rest of me is happy contentedly regressing to my tweens.
